Being a Response-able daughter or mother – video tip

By Val Boyko • April 26th, 2011

Here’s a mini chapter in Brian Johnson’s A Philosophers Notes, that is spot on for daughters and mothers communication. When a mother daughter button gets pushed, ask yourself  “How can I be response-able?”

Being able to choose an empowered response in the space between the stimulus and our knee jerk reaction takes practice.

Why not build this strength with others who you interact with. It can also help you deal with irate customers, contractors who don’t show up, colleagues who want to get one up on you, high pressure salespeople, a controlling boss, a child having a tantrum, a dog who just messed the carpet ……  and many other situations that push your buttons!

Look out for what an empowered response  looks like in our Communication 101 series.
